The Bluestone National Scenic River protects about 10 miles of the Bluestone River gorge between Pipestem Resort State Park and Bluestone Lake in Summers and Mercer counties. Access is on foot, by the Pipestem aerial tram or by boat from Bluestone Lake, and the Bluestone Turnpike Trail runs the length of the gorge. Hinton is the closest town.
