Where to stay for birding near Mount Storm Lake

Mount Storm Lake is a 1,200-acre cooling reservoir on the Stony River in Grant County, built to serve the Mount Storm power station. Warm discharge water keeps parts of the lake ice free and unusually warm for its 3,200-foot elevation, which makes it a rare year-round scuba and windsurfing site in West Virginia. It is about 30 minutes from Davis and 40 from Petersburg.
