Timberline Mountain is a ski area on the east side of Canaan Valley in Tucker County, reopened under new ownership in 2020 with a new high-speed quad. It has a vertical drop of about 1,000 feet and roughly 40 trails, including Salamander, a two-mile beginner run from the summit. Davis is about ten minutes north and Canaan Valley Resort is next door.
