When it gets busy
| Event | When | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Marshall Football Home Games | Six or seven Saturdays from early September through late November | Huntington hotels tighten on game Saturdays but rarely close out entirely, so booking two to four weeks ahead is usually enough. |
| Vandalia Gathering | Memorial Day weekend | Charleston has enough hotel supply that rooms stay available, but downtown properties within walking distance of the Capitol tighten and rates rise over the holiday weekend. |
| FestivALL Charleston | About ten days in June | Downtown hotels fill on the festival weekends, especially around headline concert nights, though weekday availability holds. |
| Mothman Festival | Third weekend in September | Point Pleasant has a handful of properties and they book close to a year ahead. |
