Ripley is the seat of Jackson County, with about 3,300 residents, at exit 138 on I-77 between Charleston and Parkersburg. Its Fourth of July celebration is one of the largest small-town Independence Day events in the country. Mothman Museum
A museum in downtown Point Pleasant covering the 1966 and 1967 Mothman sightings and the Silver Bridge collapse. The metal Mothman statue stands a block away and the town holds a festival each September.
