Rowlesburg is a town in southern Preston County on the Cheat River, at the foot of Cheat River Canyon. It grew as a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad town and the main line still runs through it. Cathedral State Park, which protects an old-growth hemlock stand, is a short drive east near Aurora.
