The Cranberry Wilderness covers about 47,800 acres in Pocahontas and Webster counties, making it the largest wilderness area in West Virginia. It is high red spruce and northern hardwood forest drained by the Cranberry, Williams and Middle Fork rivers, with more than 60 miles of trail. Richwood, Marlinton and Webster Springs are the nearest towns.
