The Cranberry Wilderness covers about 47,800 acres in Pocahontas and Webster counties, making it the largest wilderness area in West Virginia. It is high red spruce and northern hardwood forest drained by the Cranberry, Williams and Middle Fork rivers, with more than 60 miles of trail. Cranberry Mountain Nature Center
A Forest Service center at the junction of WV 39/55 and the Highland Scenic Highway, with exhibits on the Cranberry backcountry. It is the check-in point for guided glades walks.

Falls of Hills Creek
Three waterfalls of 25, 45 and 63 feet in a gorge off WV 39 west of Cranberry Glades. The lowest is the second highest waterfall in West Virginia and the boardwalk to it is steep.
