The warm springs have been in continuous use since the 1700s and still flow through Berkeley Springs State Park in the middle of town, and Cacapon, with lodge rooms, cabins and an 18-hole golf course, is a short drive south on Route 522. The town is the seat of Morgan County, is incorporated under the name Bath, and has about 700 residents.
