The Canaan Valley Resort ski area is the downhill operation at Canaan Valley Resort State Park in Tucker County, the only state-owned ski area in West Virginia. It has a vertical drop of about 850 feet, roughly 40 trails and a base area with a lodge, rental shop, tubing park and ice rink. It is the more beginner-friendly of the two ski areas in Canaan Valley.
