Group Lodging near Bear Rocks Preserve
Cabins and lodges that sleep 12 or more, common near the New River Gorge, Snowshoe and the Hatfield-McCoy trail towns. Bunk rooms and multiple bathrooms are the deciding features.
Bear Rocks Preserve is a Nature Conservancy tract of about 480 acres at the northern edge of Dolly Sods in Grant County, on the lip of the Allegheny Front. Wind-stunted spruce, sandstone outcrops and heath barrens sit above a 3,000-foot drop toward the South Branch valley, and it is the most photographed sunrise spot in the Potomac Highlands. Forest Road 75 reaches the parking area on rough gravel.
