When it gets busy
| Event | When | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Summer Holiday Weekends | Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day each year | Three-night minimums are near universal and campgrounds at Summersville, Bluestone, Stonewall and Tygart lakes book months ahead. |
| West Virginia Three Rivers Festival | A long weekend in May in downtown Fairmont | Fairmont hotel supply generally holds, but rooms tighten if a Morgantown event lands on the same weekend. |
