Sandstone Falls
The largest falls on the New River, spanning about 1,500 feet and dropping 10 to 25 feet across several channels. A boardwalk from River Road north of Hinton reaches the islands at the lip.

A section of New River Gorge National Park north of Beckley, about 1,400 feet above a seven mile horseshoe bend in the river. Its Main Overlook is a short walk from the parking area.

A state park on Bluestone Lake south of Hinton with cabins, two campgrounds and a boat launch. Bluestone Lake is the third largest body of water in West Virginia.
