Where to stay near Highland Scenic Highway
The Highland Scenic Highway is a 43-mile National Forest Scenic Byway between Richwood and US 219 near Marlinton, including the 22-mile parkway section of WV 150. It climbs above 4,500 feet and has four developed overlooks, among them Big Spruce and Williams River. The WV 150 section is not maintained for winter travel and closes in heavy snow.

Cranberry Mountain Nature Center
A Forest Service center at the junction of WV 39/55 and the Highland Scenic Highway, with exhibits on the Cranberry backcountry. It is the check-in point for guided glades walks.

Falls of Hills Creek
Three waterfalls of 25, 45 and 63 feet in a gorge off WV 39 west of Cranberry Glades. The lowest is the second highest waterfall in West Virginia and the boardwalk to it is steep.
