Where to stay near Cranberry Glades Botanical Area
Cranberry Glades Botanical Area protects about 750 acres of bogs at roughly 3,400 feet in Pocahontas County, the largest area of its kind in West Virginia. A half-mile boardwalk crosses two of the bogs, which hold sphagnum moss, cranberries and carnivorous plants normally found much farther north. The Cranberry Mountain Nature Center on WV 39 and 55 is the visitor contact point.

Cranberry Mountain Nature Center
A Forest Service center at the junction of WV 39/55 and the Highland Scenic Highway, with exhibits on the Cranberry backcountry. It is the check-in point for guided glades walks.

Falls of Hills Creek
Three waterfalls of 25, 45 and 63 feet in a gorge off WV 39 west of Cranberry Glades. The lowest is the second highest waterfall in West Virginia and the boardwalk to it is steep.
